Evaluate each of your
revised solutions
DUE DATE: 3/7
Take an objective
and critical look at your revised work for assignment H10 and H11. Evaluate
your own performance (not your intentions) based on your:
- Awareness of the
design issues at hand.
- Sensitivity to
the visual attributes and their organization.
- Computing skills
in executing your work.
For each of these
apsects, rate yourself on the following scale and explain briefly why:
BREAKTHROUGH [+]: achieved an unexpected insight, or accomplished more
than you expected.
AVERAGE [X]: ordinary performance, or marginal growth.
DEFICIENT [-]: perfunctory performance, or just went through the motion--no
idea how to solve the problem.
H 10 : Revise one of your solutions to the design problems 1-4
- Awareness of the
design issues at hand.
Average [X] I realized that in Less is More
that my second frame did not follow the directions because it did not
retain it's readability. For H 10 I reorganized my work so that the
second frame was readable. I did this by making the first frame a larger
image of the giraffe, so that cropping was easier to do. I revised it
in the easiest way possible but not neccesarily the most thoughtful
way.
- Sensitivity to
the visual attributes and their organization.
Average [X] I was not very sensitive to the visual attributes. I think
this would have been more successful if I had the images lined up from
top to bottom so that the progression would have been more visible.
- Computing skills
in executing your work.
Average [X] I fiddled around with illustrator for awhile to get the
look I wanted. But, this was probably no longer that any other student
in the class would have spent on it.
H 11 : Re-design and update your homework site
- Awareness of the
design issues at hand.
Average [X] I wanted to be sure the site was easy to navigate. I chose
to link all pages from the index which is not as sophisticated as it
could have been.
- Sensitivity to
the visual attributes and their organization.
Average [X] I should have created a sophisticated yet simple menu to
navigate through my site. This would have made the site more visually
interesting and user friendly.
- Computing skills
in executing your work.
Deficient [-] My HTML skills still need work. My page looks so dull.
I'd like to learn to do more interesting things. I'm planning on working
on Flash and Illustrator for spring break.
